Next week is a stressful and dramatic week for Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) on Coronation Street, when she is held captive in a basement by a former associate of her late father Rick. But in between all this, it seems that romance is about to blossom for her too.
On her quest to pay back her father’s customers with the money she inherited for him, Kelly rejoices in the support of Aadi (Adam Hussain) when he says he’s going with her. Kelly agrees to go on a date with him at Speed Daal.
He is disappointed when she doesn’t show up and the next day he sees Gary (Mikey North) and Maria (Samia Longchambon), who worry that Kelly hasn’t been home all night. He tells them she would be visiting one of Rick’s clients, and Gary soon realizes she is in mortal danger when he receives a ransom call.
Gary comes to the rescue and a huge and shocking fight ensues between him and the kidnapper, while a frightened Kelly watches.
After the dust settles, Kelly can recall her plans with Aadi that were so dramatically interrupted. She apologizes for missing their date, but says she wants to try again.
Millie Gibson has told us she thinks Kelly and Aadi are a good match. “Because he’s such a sensitive and patient character, I think if he slowly broke down that wall and got around her, he’d be a perfect match to fall for, because in a way he’s the opposite of Kelly,” she says. “He’s a great balance for her. I think she might fall for him.’
It’s time Kelly got some happiness in her life. Maybe a romance with Aadi is just what she needs.
