Jimi Agbaje denies defection from PDP to APC

Former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state Jimi Agbaje has denied defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Agbaje refuted claims that he would pitch a tent with the ruling APC to work on Bola Tinubu’s rise to Nigeria’s presidency, telling Channels Television that he was shocked to wake up to the news.

He said;

“I think it’s one of the downsides of social media where mischief makers can just throw up everything and it’s out there. There’s no truth to it, I’m staying in the PDP. So this is smoke without fire.

“I woke up this morning to read the news, just like everyone else. Normally they say there is no smoke without fire, but I think this is a case of where there is smoke, there is no fire because there is no fire at all.”
