Limited infrastructure capabilities prevent organizations from moving as fast as technology leaders want. In a recent commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Quali, 63% of surveyed IT and business decision makers at enterprise companies said their organization does not have the support for a wide range of cloud resources, which is one of the biggest challenges with current infrastructure abilities.

This is especially a burden for organizations working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments. Fifty-eight percent stated that their organization experienced greater risk and incurred additional expenses and unnecessary costs due to the infrastructure capabilities, which consequently limited the ability to drive innovation.

With the growing demand for infrastructure automation, organizational leaders need to determine where their weaknesses are and how those vulnerabilities affect the organization to truly capitalize on infrastructure automation. These companies are eager to leverage infrastructure automation as it is believed to address business risks through improved management and compliance with stronger vulnerability management support.

According to the Forrester study, approximately 60% of IT decision makers rely on infrastructure learning times, system service levels, and application release cycle time to track KPIs. Regarding the adoption of infrastructure automation, 46% said their organization adopts technology to deliver infrastructure and application resources with greater speed and speed.

Organizations prioritize the ability to increase proactive support and engagement, as well as to improve system service levels, application release frequency, and cycle times. In the balancing act to address business risks, it is also believed that infrastructure automation will improve developer efficiency and productivity and provide better time-to-market delivery.

For the study, 268 global IT and business decision makers were asked by enterprise companies to complete a custom survey in January 2022.
