Good morning, Gunners fans
Arsenal have officially missed Raphinha after Barcelona confirmed they had reached an agreement to sign the Leeds winger.
A statement read: “Barcelona and Leeds United Football Club have reached an early agreement on the transfer of Raphael Dias Belloli, Raphinha, pending the player’s medical examination.”
Meanwhile, Juventus are reportedly set to make an offer for Arsenal’s central defender Gabriel.
The Old Lady is looking for a new defender to replace Matthijs De Ligt, who belongs to Bayern Munich.
Lucas Torreira is said to be on his way to join Spain’s Valencia.
So says his agent Pablo Bentancur, who has said that the player has agreed to the switch to Mestalla.
But the LaLiga outfit has yet to agree terms with the Gunners.
Bentancur said: “We have reached an agreement with Valencia, Gattuso wants him.
“We are going to consult with Arsenal – Arteta wants to see him in pre-season.
“He had great numbers at Arsenal, but we have reached a preliminary agreement with Valencia.”
And according to Calciomercatoweb, Brazilian ace Gabriel would be their favorite target.
They state that Juve is preparing £25million for the former Lille man.
And they are also willing to take over Adrien Rabiot permanently and Arthur for a season on loan.
Elsewhere, Arsenal missed Raheem Sterling as the winger planned to join an elite club.
And the Gunners weren’t on that list, according to The Athletic.
But Arsenal fans can take comfort as their rivals Tottenham also failed to make the cut, the report adds.
However, the Gunners’ west London neighbors were among Sterling’s top group, and they completed his signing today.
Finally, Arsenal have not contacted Benfica about Alex Grimaldo, club president Rui Costa said.
The Gunners have been heavily associated with the left-back this summer.
But the North Londoners have yet to make an offer for him, Rui Costa claims.
When asked by the media about Arsenal’s interest, he said: [the press] have said that. None of this occurred to me. I don’t know where that came from.”
