Sunglasses are a must for any time of the year. They protect your eyes from UV light and reduce the risk of diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration. They also reduce eye strain when it’s bright outside, and they eliminate disorienting glare while driving. Plus, they protect your eyes from wind, rain and flying debris.
Any cheap UV goggles will work — you can find decent options at drugstores or discount stores like TJ Maxx and Ross — but a few of us on the Gear team have tried dozens of sunglasses while we ran, hiked, swam, walked, lazed in the sun. , and drove. These are our favourites.
