The Antiques Roadshow star sat down with Gethin Jones and Michelle Connor to reveal his tips and hints about Morning Live.

Ronnie, 71, joined the popular BBC One program in 2011, and has been a fan favorite ever since, thanks to his unique taste in antiquity.

It is often seen how he sees scarce and expensive remnants on the program – and he offers great money evaluation thanks to his knowledge.

Speaking on Morning Live, Michelle told the expert: “I need your tips when it comes to identifying hidden treasures.”

Ronnie replied: “Well, of course you want to spot fakes, if you want to spot a fake, buy a fake. Buy a fake and keep it at home and study it.

“One in the area you collect, so when you’re in the field, and you see something sincere, you know the difference between it and the fake you have at home.”

He also gave advice to those who want a good price, acknowledging that being kind often goes a long way.

Ronnie suggested that simply offering sellers a “gracious compliment” could mean buying buyers at a good price.

Gethin then went on to ask, “What about cleaning the product, should you or should you not?”

“Do not over-clean. If you are not sure, get advice, read books on conservation,” Ronnie continued.

“If you just want to clean something so that it looks more attractive to you, just puffing it with a soft cloth is always my advice and if you need to clean it further, get professional advice.”

Fans were delighted to see Ronnie on the show, and used social media with their shock and his advice to buy FAKES.

“Who knew that an antiquarian would tell people to buy fake items!” one wrote to Twitter.

Another said, “Who knew that buying a replica would be the key to having a keen eye for the ancient world!”
