Inside Ivana Trump’s Health Struggle From Fighting the Obesity Epidemic to Feeling ‘Afraid’ of Donald’s Hospitalization

IVANA Trump has made people aware of a variety of health concerns, from fighting the obesity epidemic to being “afraid” of ex-husband Donald Trump’s hospitalization.

Back in 2018, Ivana teamed up with diet guru, Gianluca Mech, known as the “Richard Simmons of Italy” to fight America’s obesity problem.

Mech launched the “Italiano Diet,” which featured a range of pastas, pizzas, and cookies specially formulated to be low-carb and high-fiber.

He and Ivana toured American cities where a majority of the population was overweight to speak about healthy eating in hospitals and community centers.

“The obesity rate in the United States has reached epidemic proportions and together with my good friend Gianluca Mech, we will introduce the ‘Italiano Diet’ to Americans coast to coast,” Ivana said in a statement at the time.

“We need to fight this now because it’s getting worse, especially among young people who need to be taught how to eat and exercise properly so they can have a long and healthy life.”

While she was very passionate about the fight, Ivana told the New York Post at the time she never struggled with her own weight.

“I was always very disciplined – I didn’t gain weight all my life,” she said.

But everyone has their guilty pleasures and Ivana was no different, appearing in ads for Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken in the past.

Ivana even said she would “dream” to eat KFC.

“I have it once a year, and I’ll have it and won’t eat anything for two days,”

Even her ex-husband, former President Trump, couldn’t escape Ivana’s lectures on his fast-food-loving habits.

“I can tell him 100 times, but he still does what he wants,” she said, adding that she’s watched Trump’s weight creep up on him over the years.

However, Ivana said her ex was still in good shape.

“He looks very, very good and is very healthy – his only weakness is the Big Mac, what can I tell you?”

‘HE WAS CAREFUL’

However, Ivana had stern words for Trump in 2020 after he and current wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, tested positive for Covid-19.

“He was careless,” she said People. “He didn’t think it would happen to him.”

Ivana said the news was “a bit of a shock” that Trump had contracted the virus because he is “the cleanest, healthiest person”.

“Not healthy with food, but otherwise very healthy – always washes his hands and is always careful,” she added, again saying his “only weakness is food.”

Despite the couple’s tumultuous marriage, which ended in divorce in 1992 after Trump’s public affair with model, Marla MaplesIvana was still concerned about her ex’s health.

“I’m scared,” she said. “I’ll be scared until he gets better and he gets out.”

TRUMP TRAGEDY

The New York Fire Department told The US Sun that they responded to Ivana’s Manhattan apartment on the Upper East Side at 12:39 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call about a person in cardiac arrest.

Ivana was pronounced dead on arrival, the NYPD told The US Sun – adding that they do not consider her death suspicious and it appears she died of natural causes.

The Trump family released a statement confirming her death: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump.

“Our mother was an incredible woman—a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor.

“She fled communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about guts and toughness, compassion and determination.

“She will be sorely missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”
