The Netflix advertising plan has not been discontinued, just hidden under a small link

Netflix

In several countries around the world, Netflix has just introduced the Basic with Ads plan. The concept was introduced in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the UK and the US. However, according to Technoblog, the Netflix website no longer lists the free basic plan with no ads. The Basic with Ads plan, Standard plan, and Premium plan are the only plans currently available to users.

Netflix website no longer shows the Basic Ad-Free Plan

According to reports, Netflix Basic Ads-Free subscription has not been formally revoked by the Over-The-Top (OTT) service. It could hide the plan to advertise the recently introduced plan. The option to select a subscription is given to the consumer, but is hidden in a small link on the Netflix subscription page. In addition, some individuals claim to have seen all four plans.

According to Tecnoblog, this is what’s known as a “dark pattern,” the term used to describe the practice of luring a user toward less desirable or fascinating options. It seems the goal is to send customers to a much more expensive plan if they don’t want a plan that includes advertising.

In several areas, Netflix introduced the Basic with Ads plan, but India was not on the list as the streaming service already offers a mobile-only monthly budget subscription for just Rs 179. Access to a vast selection of excellent TV shows and movies, a customized viewing experience and availability on various TVs and mobile devices are all features of the Netflix Basic with Ads subscription. The video quality of the basic plan with ad is set to 720p/HD. In addition, Netflix claims that viewers see nearly 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour. Due to licensing restrictions, a limited number of movies and TV shows are not available to Basic with Advertisement subscribers and users cannot download titles.
