Union members in Apple Stores across Australia are now on strike, calling on Apple to resume negotiations.

As previously announcedAustralian Retail and Fast Food Workers Union (RAFFWU) employees left their Apple Store posts as of 3pm local time on Friday, December 23 (11pm ET on Thursday, December 22). They plan to stay out on Christmas Eve, traditionally a peak sales time for all retailers.

According to Reutersin the centre of the disagreement is a 2014 agreement that allegedly denies employees “weekends, consecutive days off, fixed schedules, fixed working days, 12-hour breaks between shifts, [and] overtime rates.”
