A North Belfast man appeared in court today on charges of molesting the mother of tragic schoolboy Noah Donohoe.
illiam Logue Millar, 44, faces a new charge of persistent improper use of a public electronic communications network.
The charges are related to an alleged six-month campaign against Fiona Donohoe.
Her 14-year-old son Noah was found dead in a north Belfast drain in June 2020, six days after he went missing while cycling across the city to meet friends.
Mrs Donohoe has been pushing for answers to the circumstances surrounding his mysterious disappearance ever since.
Millar, of Northwood Parade, appeared before the Belfast Magistrates’ Court to be charged with pursuing a course of action amounting to harassment of Ms Donohoe, and persistently using a communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless fear.
The alleged crimes were committed on dates between June 19 and December 11 last year.
During the brief hearing, Millar spoke only to confirm that he understood the allegations against him.
An investigating officer said she could connect him to both counts.
Defense attorney Keith Gamble told the court: “The papers have just been handed to me, it’s quite a bundle and I would need some time.”
District Judge Anne Marshall released his client on bail and adjourned the case for three weeks.
Millar is expected to state his stance on the allegations at that stage.
