The worst Secret Santa gifts to get your gaming friends

THE time for giving is fast approaching, and if you’re not into gaming, it can be hard to find gifts for your gaming enthusiasts.

There are mountains of gaming merchandise, and not everything is appreciated.

Please, no more Funko Pops.

While there are plenty great gifts gamers will enjoy, there is also enough that would make us cringe.

Here’s our list of gaming merchandise you might want to avoid.

Controller mugs

These are often sold in supermarkets and Amazonin a range of different forms, all as hideous as they are impractical.

While gaming-branded crockery doesn’t have to be bad, it’s awkward and uncomfortable to hold on to a bumpy controller.

They may have your friend’s favorite console, but don’t let that fool you.

Gaming scents

This is very much a thing, unfortunately, and something we don’t want to be a part of.

Our consoles smell like grease and burning, something we try to wash off at the end of the day.

From the Xbox partnership with Lynx to Nvidia’s bath products to help you smell like a graphics card, we want nothing to do with this.

Neon gamer posters

At some point, no one knows for sure, it was unanimously decided that gamers love neon.

Unfortunately, this is rarely true, and year after year we still receive things decorated in neon with weird spells.

Please don’t do this to us. We don’t need anything more to add to the pile.

Funko pops

In addition to neon, it was also decided that we liked Funko Pops, and I don’t think this was ever discussed with us.

There are hundreds of Funko Pops and we don’t want one. Not even one of our favorite game.

The soulless dead eyes should be enough to give away that we don’t want these in our homes, yet we keep getting them.

Games slogan t-shirts

Gaming has beautiful clothes. Just take a look at the lines sold by BlackMilk and Irregular Choice to see some beautiful designs.

Not only are these cheap T-shirts with random gaming slogans on them not funny, they will never be worn.

They all come up with slogans to suggest that none of us go out, which may be true, but we don’t want to advertise it.

The same goes for socks, sweaters, or anything else you can slap a slogan on.
