A giant 5-meter-tall python was captured after months of free roaming. Found in a house in Austin, the albino reticulated python was left lethargic by the cold temperatures in Texas during the winter storm.

The Austin Animal Center said a handful of Austin residents called them about the python, which they managed to catch in their garage.

The residents said the snake was lethargic because of the temperatures and they were able to grab it.

Since July, people in the area have been flagging the free-roaming python after it was stolen from a Dallas man’s car.

Austin Animal Center posted a message on Facebook saying they “recognized a lost/found message for a large albino snake a few months ago.”

“After searching online to no avail, they contacted a former intake officer with a brain like a trap of steel,” they added.

Sure enough, she immediately found the Nextdoor post with owner info in the comments!

“We called him up and he was able to identify a unique feature of the python. He drove down the next day to pick her up.
