Eriksen will be Erik ten Hag’s second summer acquisition, after left back Tyrell Malacia made the switch from PSV.
The 30-year-old was the subject of interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including former Tottenham, before interest cooled after his contract with Brentford expired.
The Bees were hoping to keep Eriksen out of a short-term deal in January, but it is Old Trafford where the Danish international has landed.
The confirmation of the deal comes 13 months after Eriksen’s in-game cardiac arrest, which saw the player, in his own words, “die for five minutes” on the pitch at Euro 2020.
Seven months later, there was a remarkable return to top football with Brentford and Eriksen playing a key role in the club’s good form at the end of the season.
Eriksen now moves on to the Premier League with United, three years after turning them down when he was still playing for Spurs.
More to come.
