Moe over $2.4 million in cash was seized after police searched several properties in Auckland.
Police seized drugs, a firearm and more than $2.4 million in cash in an investigation into a transnational organized crime group operating in New Zealand.
Operation Samson, led by the police’s National Organized Crime Group, has been investigating people and groups associated with the New Zealand branch of the Hells Angel motorcycle club.
Detective Inspector Albie Alexander said police have been searching several residential and commercial addresses in Auckland throughout the week.
As a result, police seized more than $2.4 million in cash, a gun, methamphetamine and cannabis.

A 30-year-old patched member of the Hells Angels has been charged with money laundering and has appeared in Auckland District Court.
Alexander said these kinds of violations undermined the well-being of Kiwi communities.
“We will continue to target those who are collecting assets and wealth illegally,” Alexander said.
βIn conjunction with Operation Cobalt, we will also continue to address and suppress illegal gang activity to improve the safety of our community and personnel β and hold those responsible for these types of violations to account.β
Alexander said partner agencies both in New Zealand and abroad had done an excellent job.
“We are all committed to disrupting and dismantling these illegal transnational networks operating in New Zealand.”
He said the investigation is still ongoing and police cannot rule out further arrests and charges.
