Negative test required

The following are viable vacation options. A number of other countries – Barbados, for example – allow unvaccinated visitors who have evidence of a negative test, but also require them to be quarantined upon arrival.

Europe

67. France

From 31 March, unvaccinated travelers from the UK aged 12 and over are allowed to visit for non-essential travel, but must present a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours of departure or an antigen test result within 48 hours.

France scrapped its Covid passport system in March, although proof of vaccination is still required to visit hospitals and care homes.

68. Malta

Non-vaccinated arrivals must provide evidence of a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival or a rapid antigen test taken no more than 24 hours prior to arrival. However, these rules will be deleted on July 25.

69. Spain

Unvaccinated (or, if your second shot was more than 270 days ago, unboosted) arrivals must show one of the following:

1. Evidence of recent recovery from Covid. Recovery certificates issued by the official authorities are valid for at least 11 days after the first NAAT diagnostic test or positive antigen screening test performed by qualified personnel. The certificate is valid for 180 days from the date of the first positive diagnostic test result.

2. A negative test certificate (this can be a PCR taken no more than 72 hours before departure, or an antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure).


Rest of the world

70. Bahamas

If you are not fully vaccinated and are 12 years of age or older, you must provide a negative PCR test no more than three days (72 hours) prior to your date of arrival in the Bahamas. Self-administered tests are not accepted.

71. Belize

If you cannot demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated or unvaccinated, you must provide a negative result from a PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival or an approved rapid antigen test (home test kits will not be accepted) received within 48 hours taken before arrival, or a test can be taken at the airport for a fee of BZ$100 or US$50 (to be paid in cash).

If you receive a positive result on arrival, you will be placed in a mandatory quarantine at an approved quarantine hotel at your own expense.

72. Burundi

All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must show proof of a negative Covid test issued within the last 72 hours.

73. Cape Verde

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show a negative PCR test (taken no more than 72 hours before your trip) or an antigen test (not more than 48 hours before your trip).

74. Comoros

A negative PCR test, performed less than 72 hours before departure, is required to enter the Comoros regardless of your vaccination status.

75. Ecuador

Travelers over three years of age must provide proof of vaccination or a negative laboratory PCR test taken up to 72 hours prior to boarding their flight. There are no requirements for travelers under the age of three.

76. Eswatini (Swaziland)

If you have not been fully vaccinated, a valid negative PCR test result (hardcopy or electronic) not older than 72 hours is required.

77. Gambia

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated passengers arriving from the UK will require a negative PCR test certificate, collected no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. Passengers will also be asked to undergo a rapid diagnostic test. If you are tested positive, you will be quarantined at your own expense in a government facility until your test comes back negative.

78. Guinea-Bissau

Anyone entering Guinea-Bissau must provide a negative PCR test result from an accredited body, taken within the last 48 hours.

79. Haiti

All arrivals must show evidence of a negative test. This can be an antigen or PCR test and should be taken no more than 72 hours before boarding. However, the FCO advises against all but essential travel to the country.

80. India

All travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Portal “Air Suvidha” before they travel. If you are not vaccinated, you must upload a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure.

81. Lebanon

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show evidence of a negative PCR test no more than 48 hours before boarding, or a Rapid Antigen (Lateral Flow) test no more than 24 hours before boarding taken. Please note, however, that the FCO currently advises against traveling to Lebanon.

82. Madagascar

All travelers to Madagascar, regardless of vaccination status, must provide a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of departure and undergo an antigen test on arrival (at your own expense). If the result of the antigen test on arrival is positive, they must be quarantined at a designated hotel for seven days (also at their own expense).

83. Mozambique

You must provide a negative PCR test if you have not been vaccinated. The result of the PCR test must be issued within 72 hours before arrival in the country of departure.

84. Namibia

You must provide proof of a negative PCR test taken in the country of departure upon arrival. The test result must not be older than 72 hours (calculated from the time the sample to be tested is taken) at the time of entry into Namibia.

85. Nepal

If you are not fully vaccinated, you must have a negative PCR test to enter Nepal no more than 72 hours before your flight of first departure, and then you must be able to obtain a visa on arrival.

86. Nicaragua

A negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival in the country, as well as original proof of the yellow fever vaccine, is required for entry into Nicaragua.

87. Panama

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show a negative test at your own expense, no more than 72 hours before arrival, or have a test performed at the port of entry at your own expense.

However, the FCO warns that while tests can be conducted upon arrival in Panama, some airlines may refuse entry to a flight to Panama if you don’t already have a negative result.

88. Peru

You must wear two face masks or a KN95 mask on flights to Peru and must wear a declaration to enter or travel through Peru as a visitor. If you are not fully vaccinated and are 12 years of age or older, you must show proof of a negative PCR test upon entry into Peru (taken no more than 48 hours before entry).

89. Rwanda

All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must present a negative Rapid (Lateral Flow) Test, taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure. An additional Rapid (Lateral Flow) test will be taken on arrival at the traveler’s own expense and is mandatory. Accompanying children under the age of five are exempt.

90. Sao Tome and Principe

You can enter São Tomé and Principe without vaccination, provided you have proof of a recent negative PCR test.

91. Senegal

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show proof of a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours before entering Senegal.

92. Seychelles

Visitors who have not been fully vaccinated must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test performed within 24 hours of departure to Seychelles.

93. Somalia

Entry into Somalia requires a QR code negative PCR test certificate from an authorized service provider no more than 72 hours prior to arrival at the final destination. Please note, however, that the FCO advises against all travel to the country.

94. Sri Lanka

All travelers must complete an online pre-travel health registration form. Details can be found on the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority website. Specific travel insurance that provides Covid coverage is also mandatory for all visitors. You can apply and pay online.

Non-vaccinated travelers aged 12 years and older must demonstrate a negative PCR test (no more than 72 hours prior to embarkation) or a negative Rapid Antigen test (within 48 hours prior to embarkation). Self-smears are not recognized.

Once you arrive in Sri Lanka you have to stay in a Tourism Bio Bubble for a week. However, you are allowed to visit recognized tourist sites and use all facilities of the hotel.

Please note, however, that the FCO currently advises against all travel to Sri Lanka.

95. St. Lucia

All unvaccinated travelers must have a negative PCR test taken up to five days before entering Saint Lucia.

The following tests are not accepted:

  • LAMP Tests
  • self-administered tests or home kits
  • saliva samples

96. St Martin

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show proof of a negative PCR test on entry to Sint Maarten, which was taken no more than 48 hours before departure.

97. St. Vincent and the Grenadines

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show evidence of a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours before entering St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

98. Sudan

You are not required to provide proof of your vaccination status to enter Sudan, but you must have a PCR certificate confirming a negative test result, taken less than 72 hours before arrival. However, keep in mind that the FCO advise against traveling to the country.

99. Tajikistan

All travelers arriving in Tajikistan must provide confirmation of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival.

100. Tanzania

Like South Africa, Tanzania offers both sun and safari. It also became somewhat notable early in the pandemic for refusing to impose any sort of Covid restrictions. That attitude has hardened somewhat now that all visitors are required to show both a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours of arrival and undergo a rapid test on arrival, but it is not necessary to prove that you have been vaccinated .

101. Tunisia

If you are not fully vaccinated and are 18 years or older, you must show a negative PCR test (no more than 48 hours before entry) or a rapid lateral flow test (no more than 24 hours before entry) when entering Tunisia .

102. UAE (including Dubai)

Unvaccinated Brits arriving in Dubai and Abu Dhabi must have a negative PCR test before departure and show the certificate at check-in. These must be taken at least 48 hours before departure. Travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi are also required to pass a PCR test upon arrival. Travelers arriving in Dubai may be required to perform another PCR test upon arrival and self-isolate pending the outcome.

103. Uganda

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must present a negative PCR certificate issued no more than 72 hours prior to departure upon arrival by land or air.

104. Venezuela

All travelers entering Venezuela must have a (hardcopy) negative PCR test performed within 72 hours of their inbound flight arrival.

All persons one year of age or older must undergo a PCR test at Maiquetia International Airport. Travelers must pre-register via the provider’s website (CasaLab), and record their incoming flight details to get a QR code. This QR code (hardcopy or digital) is requested by both the airline/carrier at check-in and by the local sanitary authorities upon arrival to administer the test.

However, keep in mind that the FCO advises against traveling to Venezuela.

105. Zambia

If you have not been fully vaccinated, you must show proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure.
