Ms Arbiter called her “sober” and explained how Camilla has been a support system for the Duke of Cornwall. In February 2005, Charles and Camilla announced their engagement, 35 years after they first met.
On April 8, they wed in a civil ceremony with Prince William as best man.
Ms Arbiter said: “Sober, unassuming and prone to giggles, Camilla’s warmth and keen sense of fun have arguably helped endear her to a new legion of royal fans and few would disagree that her devotion to Charles made the of the future king of Great Britain.
“Despite describing him as a ‘complete workaholic’, her unwavering support has led to a more relaxed approach to his role and her steadfast presence always makes him happy.”
This summer it will be 50 years since Charles and Camilla were first introduced.
Although it has long been rumored that they met at a polo match in 1970, royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith revealed that Lucia Santa Cruz, daughter of the former Chilean ambassador to London and a mutual friend, met them at her home in 1972 while enjoying had set up a drink after stating that she had found ‘just the girl’ for Prince Charles.
A close friend of the couple told The Telegraph in 2017: “You must never forget that it is a real love match.
“He’s changed a lot because he’s comfortable with himself. And she makes him feel completely at ease.”
As part of a message released for her platinum anniversary, the Queen shocked fans by declaring that it is her “sincere wish” for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne.

A Clarence House spokesperson said the Prince and Duchess are “moved and honored by Her Majesty’s words”.
The pair later appeared next to the Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the platinum anniversary closing event.
Ms Arbiter continued: “Live and beautiful, Camilla Shand was unlike any fit young ladies he had bonded with before.
According to Jonathan Dimbleby, his official biographer, she laughed ‘easily and with the same folly’ that brought Charles to tears and ‘was convulsed by the Goons, by silly accents and silly looks.
