New York Attorney General Has Agreed To Delay Former President’s Statements Donald Trump and two of his adult children in a civil investigation because of his Death of first wife Ivana Trump.
Ex-President Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr and his daughter Ivanka Trump were set to begin their testimonies next week in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into the Trump organization’s business practices.
On Friday, the morning after Trump Jr. and Ivanka’s mother died, a spokeswoman for James’s office announced that “this is a temporary delay and statements will be rescheduled as soon as possible.”
“There is no other information about dates or otherwise to provide at this time,” the spokeswoman said.
“We offer our condolences to the Trump family.”
James’s office claims it has evidence that the Trump Organization misreported the value of its real estate in order to get more favorable loans and tax breaks.
Trump Jr, along with his younger brother Eric Trump who had a video deposition in October 2020, are executive vice presidents of the Trump Organization. Ivanka was a top executive in the family business until her father appointed her as a senior White House adviser during his presidency.
Ex-President Trump called Ivana on his Truth Social platform Thursday afternoon an “amazing, beautiful and wonderful woman, who lived an amazing and inspiring life.”
Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace, Ivana!’ He wrote.
“She will be sorely missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”
Ivana is believed to have fallen down the stairs of her Upper East Side Manhattan home after possibly suffering a medical episode. Her cause of death has not yet been determined.
Trump and his two oldest children in mid-June lost a career attemptmeaning they have to sit for explanations in James’ investigation.
