The death of Avery Baker (Omar Lye-Fook, MBE) is going to hit his brother Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and sons Felix and Finlay (Matthew Morrison and Ashley Byam) hard in EastEnders.
But while the family accepts the passing, they don’t expect their deceased relative to receive another shock.
One by one or two, Avery goes out as he lived – with a secret that is soon revealed to a bewildered Mitch.
With Avery short on time, Mitch organizes a special Caribbean-themed bash for his sibling at the laundromat, with friends together and Tara running the entertainment.
Mitch and Avery share some touching words as Avery faces a peaceful end and emotions run high as those left behind reflect on their loss.
Karen and Harvey (Lorraine Stanley and Ross Boatman) encourage Mitch to support Finlay and Felix and remind him that they are family, so he takes them for lunch in Walford East, where they discuss some expensive funeral plans.
In The Vic, Karen gives Mitch a letter she found from Avery and he makes a shocking discovery – while Finlay and Felix discuss extravagant funeral plans, Mitch debates how to tell them.
Mitch and Karen nervously tell Felix and Finlay what happened and they deny the news, but what has Avery left in his wake?
And can Mitch be there for the brothers as they recover from what they’ve learned?
