It’s been a while since Samsung updated its budget Galaxy Tab A line. According to a fresh new leak, a new model Tab A7 (2022) is just around the corner. The leak offers a look at the tablet’s rather nondescript design. It really looks like a striking image of the 2020 Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 model from both the front and the back.
In fact, Samsung could even repurpose some of the parts, and maybe even the body of the device, since, like its 2020 predecessor, the new Tab A7 (2022) features a 10.4-inch, 1200 x 2000-pixel LCD screen, a single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie, plus a 7,040 mAh battery. All these specifications are carried over.
One thing that is reportedly changing in the new model is the chipset. The 2022 tablet would ship with a UNISOC T618 – a 12nm part, made on a TSMC FinFET process, with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores, also up to 2. .0 GHz, a Mali G52MP2 GPU and optional LTE connectivity. It replaces the Snapdragon 662 in the Tab A7 2020 model, which could actually be a downgrade depending on your point of view. The new Tab A7 (2022) is said to have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
On the plus side, the new Galaxy Tab A7 (2022) may launch at a lower price point than its predecessor. The source suggests: €199 as the suggested retail price.
