SOAP star Natalie Anderson has taken the phrase “chilling” a little too literally with an icy dip in a bikini
The actress, best known for starring in Emmerdale and Holly oakshared the moment she tried cold therapy for the first time — with the results truly chilling.
She seemed to be having a good time though, with the star shining as she posed for photos.
“Bring on the snow!” she wrote. “I dipped my toe in cold therapy and I really loved it!”
“Okay, I bottled out a Boxing Day, but I’m definitely out for some cold water dips this year! @happihealings, you’re in charge of this!”
She also revealed it had a surprising effect on her mental health, revealing: “Anxiety is a jerk and when it’s bad, befriending the cold is a great way to curb it.
“So this year I will try to find my inner Elsa.❄️…let’s see how many cold water dips I can manage in 2023.”
Cold therapy is becoming more common for sore and tense muscles, reducing inflammation. As a result, athletes such as soccer players are known to have ice baths after training.
It is also believed that it can have a positive effect on metabolism, higher energy levels and focus.
Natalie is best known for playing Alicia Metcalfe in Emmerdale and left the soap in 2015 when her character left for a new life in Portugal.
In 2021, she joined the cast of Hollyoaks as DS Lexi Calder, but was murdered in September 2022 as the latest victim of deranged serial killer Silas Bissett.
