The intern star Karen Brady revealed co-star Claude Littner was so traumatized by the bickering of the candidates that he actually hid in a ‘dark room’.
Poor Claude!
The long-running reality series Lord Alan Sugar returns this Thursday [January 5] and we’ve already met the hopefuls who will compete for the £250,000 investment from the business tycoon.
The program has been a hit with viewers for 19 years as several contestants put their creativity to the test in an attempt to reach the finals.
It’s not all smooth sailing though, as many of the recruits clash in the process.
On Tuesday’s The One Show, Karren, 53, Lord Sugar’s trusted assistant, and former series winner Tim Campbell MBE, 45, promoted the upcoming series and gave an update on Claude’s return.
Reflecting on Claude’s experience with the hopefuls, Karren said, “I know Claude said the bickering got so bad, I saw him at the end of the very first day and he literally had to lie down in a dark room.”
“He said it was really bad, they were really against each other.”
Season 17 of the much-loved BBC competition kicks off with the 18 candidates departing for a sun-kissed task in Antigua’s much warmer climates.
Since 2015, Claude is one of Lord Alan Sugar‘s trusted assistants on the business-themed reality show, having previously put contestants to the test in grueling and often savage interviews.
In 2022 he was replaced in the boardroom by Tim after being involved in a horrific accident, after falling off an electric bicycle in an incident that resulted in nine surgeries.
The 73-year-old must appear two episodes of the 2023 seasonwith Tim staying by Lord Sugar’s side and Baroness Karren also returning.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and The Apprentice returns on Thursday 5 January at 9pm.
