A FORMER EastEnders star has been arrested on suspicion of alleged “large scale” fraud.
The actress is under investigation by specialized anti-organized crime cops.
She was detained during an early Friday raid in Woodford Green, East London.
The suspect was taken to an arrest center at Gravesend, Kent Police Station.
She was questioned before being released for investigation later that day.
The alleged fraud conspiracy has not been specified in detail.
Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (Ersou) are investigating.
It is one of the ten regional organized crime units of the police in England and Wales tackling serious crime and terrorism.
The actress – who cannot be identified for legal reasons – was arrested by officers from Ersou’s economic crime unit.
The star has appeared on British television for three decades and played a main character in the BBC1 soap.
Law enforcement allegedly took documents and electronic devices when she dove to an address where she currently resides.
A source said: “The allegations of fraud must be massive given who is investigating it.
“It was an early morning raid. She would have been totally surprised.”
Ersou confirmed the arrest and that the investigation is ongoing.
