EMILY PRESCOTT: How Education Minister Andrea Jenkyns gained cult status as a child…by unknowingly singing to an audience of Moonies at a charity event
She’s now risen to Education Minister, but Andrea Jenkyns clearly didn’t do her homework on the Moonies when she was young – she was unknowingly signed up to the religious group often described as a cult.
Andrea, who recently made headlines for waving a finger at an anti-Boris crowd, recalls singing at a charity event as a child.
Later, she received a thank-you note from the Unification Church, which made her an ambassador.
When her mother saw the autograph of church leader Sun Myung Moon, her family realized that Andrea had been singing to an audience of Moonies.
