One thing OnePlus has always tried to deliver North products is quality. Although the Nord products are identified as affordable OnePlus products, they still perform quite well. OnePlus Nord Buds Design and Body Review
I got the white version for review. The charging case is slightly larger than I prefer. However, you can still carry it comfortably in your pocket. The OnePlus Nord Buttons charging case has a glossy finish. Any day I would prefer the black variety over this one, but the white isn’t bad either. The design of the charging case is somewhat peculiar. I don’t know what to think. But it will definitely grow on you once you start using it. Opening and closing the lid is an effortless task that can also be done with one hand. There is a Type-C charging port on the back.
The LED light for indicating the status of the OnePlus Nord Buds is located on the front. As soon as you open the lid, you will see two pieces of earbuds. The right earpiece is marked with the ‘R’ sign and the left earpiece with ‘L’.
Now let’s examine the earphones. The oddly shaped flat stem certainly adds to the functionality of the earphones. The button on top of the handle is round and is easy to press due to the flat surface. There are two speaker grilles. One is near the magnets and the other, of course, is where the main noise will come from. The one near the magnets feels like it was made to help with noise cancellation.
These are, of course, quite stylish and unique looking earbuds. You should definitely walk to a store and try them out if you are looking for affordable and stylish TWS earbuds. OnePlus Nord Buds Review: Audio Experience and Performance
The OnePlus Nord Buds deliver a pretty balanced sound experience. The sound is in exactly the right place in every department. There are 12.4mm dynamic drivers in the earbuds with also four microphones (2 in each earbud).
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind listening to songs day in and out on the OnePlus Nord Buds, even if I have the more expensive earbuds from other companies. The earbuds have an IP55 rating, which means they are water and sweat resistant. This means you don’t have to worry about taking them off during your next workout at the gym or out and about.
There is support for Dolby Atmos, but not with every smartphone. Best to use with OnePlus phones for the Dolby Atmos sound support and superior sound experience. The earbuds come with passive noise cancellation support, which is just decent.
If you are a gamer, then pairing these earbuds with the OnePlus phones is again the best option. With Pro Gaming mode on OnePlus devices, the Nord Buds give a ping of just 94ms for low-latency gaming.
OnePlus Nord Buds Useful Features and Functions
The OnePlus Nord Buds are compatible with the HeyMelody app. Some of the special features of the Nord Buds include: OnePlus Fast pair support, Dolby Atmos support, and Sound Master Equalizer. These features contribute to giving a better audio experience to the users.
The Bluetooth version the latest Nord Buds are from OnePlus can support is Bluetooth 5.2. OnePlus said that the audio formats supported by these earbuds are SBC and AAC. The wireless range is 10 meters, which is just not enough.
Let’s talk a bit about the features. From each of the earbuds, you can tap the silver button once to play/pause music or other audio. Double-tap skips to the next song, or answers or hangs up a call. To play the previous song, users need to tap the button three times. Press and hold for three seconds to reject calls or switch devices.
OnePlus Nord Buds Battery Review
OnePlus Nord Buds come with a 41 mAh battery (each earbuds) and the charging case has a total of 480 mAh battery. OnePlus claims that with just a 10-minute charge, users can get five hours of performance from the Nord Buds. Of course, there is a USB Type-C charging port on the back to support fast charging.
When fully charged, the Nord Buds can deliver seven hours of music playback, 3.5 hours worth of phone calls, and 30 hours of combined playback. To be fair, battery has never been an issue for me with OnePlus TWS earbuds.
You can connect the charging case of the Nord Buds to your OnePlus charger or any other charger with a Type-C head.
