Brexit Live: Seven Remainer tactics used to discredit EU exit | Politics | News

Independent economist Julian Jessop has noted “at least” seven Remain tactics used to discredit Brexit.

He wrote in the Telegraph that these included cherry-picking data, which was not comparable to growth stats, as countries that start lower have “more room to catch up”, and “deceptive ‘counterfactual'” models that “failure to pass any reasonable odor test”.

Mr Jessop also cited deliberate false comparisons, the presentation of predictions as factual facts, the blame of “anything and everything” on Brexit and the use of the “straw man” argument “that anyone telling the story of the “Brexit” catastrophe’, must deny that there has really been no impact”.
