WHEN boxing legends are on holiday, they kind of look like this.
In 2019, SunSport columnist Ricky Hatton, now 43, wrote: licked up the sun in Mykonossharing his hilarious adventures on Instagram.
And the ‘Hitman’, who is reportedly worth £31million, was happy to part with some serious cash – in what he described as a ‘f****** expensive’ holiday – to drink wine and drink. dining with ex-girlfriend Charlie (he cruelly nicknamed The Fun Police) on the beautiful Greek island.
From eating £820 steaks to stay in a luxury villa from £350 a night no expense was spared.
And he even got away with comparing his wife to Robocop… maybe that’s why they broke up?
HIS EXCAVATION
Hatton and Charlie stayed in the exclusive five-star AGL Luxury Villas, where the houses feature fully equipped kitchens, comfortable bedrooms, flat screen TVs and private pools.
Most units have a terrace and sea views, and barbecue facilities are also available.
With the airport just three miles away and AGL Luxury Villas close to the center, this is the perfect place to see the island in all its glory.
But staying here is not cheap. Prices for living like a king start at around £350 a night.
POSH NOSH
It’s no secret that the former boxing champion loves his food – often eating out at the best eateries.
In Mykonos, he really pushed the boat out, polishing the food at flashy restaurants like carnivorous Nammos and Scorpios, and munching on healthy sushi at Tokyo Joe’s.
However, it was the morning after dinner at Nammos that Hatton admitted he woke up in a “pool of damn tears” when he discovered his restaurant bill.
If he managed to pay £1,750 for a meal for two, which included a bottle of champagne for £450, as well as a bottle of prosecco for £120, he could have had a terrible hangover.
But Hatton got his stomach lined with a hearty kobe ribeye steak that set him back £820.
He then posted before and after photos of him wrecking his diner, as well as a photo of his huge bill.
“I woke up this morning in a pool of damn tears,” he captioned the photo.
“That’s what you get for being a fat, greedy jerk.”
He later added: “I just ordered it. Not looked. haha.
“The bill came and the fun police just started laughing. Wow.”
DRINK
Before landing on Mykonos, Hatton was on holiday in Tenerife with estranged parents Ray and Carol and was caught on video stumbling into an Irish pub.
The former light welterweight and welterweight world champion flashed his belly and danced to Lionel Richie’s 1983 hit All Night Long during the festivities.
On this trip with The Fun Police, however, he was a bit more reserved, apart from that huge Nammos bar bill which also contained around £120 worth of Hendricks gin.
But they did enjoy a cocktail at the 180 Degrees Sunset Bar, which offers unparalleled views of the island at sunset.
MISS ROBOCOP
Hatton got in trouble with ex-girlfriend Charlie after he snapped a photo of her wearing a pair of designer sunglasses and compared her to Robocop on Instagram.
But she saw the funny side, in response to his banter on Instagram and wrote: “😂😂😂 I’m sure you’d take the p*ss off them!! Set myself up for that one 😂 xx”
However, Hatton quickly made amends with Charlie and took her to Little Venice for some shopping. Although their romance would not last.
