The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly planning to move to Windsor so they can be close to the Queen. It is rumored that Prince William and Kate plan to have another “normal” summer before making the move. Royal expert Katie Nicholl said this week: “Even though their brand new life in Windsor is about to begin, their summers on the coast will provide a sense of normalcy.” The Cambridge family will see a significant number of changes in the coming weeks; In addition to moving to Windsor, George, Charlotte and Louis will all be enrolling in brand new schools, which is understandably a daunting concept.”
William and Kate have become important members of the Royal Family and have taken on more responsibility in recent years as the Queen becomes more constrained by age and health.
The Duke may be a reliable presence now, but he once remembered a time when his grandmother wasn’t so impressed with him.
In 2016, he told Sky News that he described a moment from his early years when he was playing with Zara Phillips.
William said: “We were chasing Zara who was on a go-cart, and Peter and I managed to push Zara into a lamppost.
“And the lamppost came down and almost crushed her, and I remember my grandmother being the first person in Balmoral to run across the lawn in her kilt.
“She came rushing in and gave us the most almighty nonsense, and that stuck in my mind from then on.”
William also said this moment stayed with him as he praised the Queen for her influence on his life.
He added: “She has had a very strong female influence and because I lost my mother at a young age it has been particularly important to me that I had someone like the Queen to look up to and who has been there and who has understood some things.” the more, um, complex problems when you lose a loved one.
“So she’s been incredibly supportive and I’ve really appreciated her guidance.”
According to a royal biographer, the Queen was worried about William as a little boy.

TV presenter Jeremy Paxton has also backed up claims that William was initially unenthusiastic about the performance, saying Diana once confided it to him.
He said: “We talked about our children and she said that William often told her he didn’t really want to be king, and then Harry would say, ‘If you don’t want the job, I’ll have it.'”
During Diana’s famous Panorama interview with Martin Bashir in 1995, she was asked if she thought the role of King should go straight to William.
She replied, “Well, then you must see that William is very young at the moment, so at such an age do you want to put such a burden on his shoulders?
“So I can’t answer that question.”
