Services on the Elizabeth line are not expected to return to normal until around 9am on Friday morning TSSA and Prospect union members left their jobs on Thursday amid a wage equality dispute.
The union action ended at 6.30am, with no service between Abbey Wood and Paddington expected until about 7:30 am. Transport for London (TfL) reports good service on the Elizabeth line.
Problems with overhead lines are causing serious delays on the Overground between Stratford and Willesden Junction, giving many Londoners a headache.
The problem occurred on Camden Road, TfL said on Friday. There is good service on all other Overground routes.
There are minor delays on the DLR between Bank and Tower Gateway, Canary Wharf and Canning Town, while TfL repairs a broken down train at Shadwell.
Picket lines formed in Paddington and Romford on Thursday as Elizabeth Line employees demanded a pay rise more in line with their TfL colleagues.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan was urged to intervene on their behalf and “have leverage to encourage negotiations that can resolve this dispute,” in a letter from TSSA interim general secretary Frank Ward.
Unions say Elizabeth line staff employed by RfLi are paid up to £30,000 less than colleagues in similar positions elsewhere on the TfL network.
Bus drivers employed by Abellio in South and West London also went on strike on Thursday due to a pay dispute. Further strikes by bus drivers are planned for January 16, 19, 25 and 26.
