A five-year-old boy has been killed after a truck hit him while he was on his Spider-Man bike.

It has been reported that the young child was fatally hit by the lorry’s lorry this morning while crossing the street on West Bromwich Road, Walsall in the West Midlands.

The road had been closed from 10:30am and closed for most of the day, with people being told to avoid the area while specially trained forensic officers inspected the site. It is now open to motorists again.

Locals on the scene after the tragedy told BirminghamLive they were supporting the boy’s family after the accident.

One of them said, “I heard sirens earlier today. It’s so sad what happened, that poor boy.’

Another said: ‘I heard that a young boy has died. It’s just so terribly sad.’

One resident, who remained anonymous, added: “I’m not sure what happened, but this road can be so dangerous.”

Just yesterday a woman was arrested after a six-month-old baby has been killed in a collision between two cars.

The incident happened on Cherry Tree Avenue at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. The child was a passenger in a blue Ford Focus that was badly damaged in the incident.
