Megan Markle and Prince Harry “expect an apology” from the Royal family before agreeing to peace talks, an expert has suggested. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have leveled a series of accusations against the institution, claiming to have been left to fend for themselves against public pressure. Commentator Jonathan Secerdoti suggested the couple would be amenable to negotiations with the king to rebuild their relationship, but warned they will face significant resistance due to the swipe they have made at the royal family.
Sacerdoti said: “I think Harry and Meghan have said they expect an apology, but I don’t think many people would agree that it’s headed that way.
“Some individuals inside [Spare] – the king, the queen and the prince of wales – all come out of that book so badly.
“They’re criticized so broadly by Harry, so nastyly criticized in sections, I think they could be very sad about this.”
He told US Weekly, “But most of all, I think maybe they also feel like they just want to shut up because they don’t want to provoke more of this stuff, which isn’t just damaging to them emotionally and personally.” , but against the nation, because this is effectively an attack on part of Britain’s constitution.”

The suggestion comes after reports emerged suggesting the King has asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to broker a peace between the Duke of Sussex and prince william.
The Prince of Wales is reportedly concerned that Harry and Meghan are exploiting Charles III’s coronation to pull off a “stunt” to draw attention to themselves.
But according to the Daily Mail, His Majesty has expressed concern “that Harry and Meghan’s absence from the coronation would be a bigger distraction than their presence.”
The King is seemingly “willing to make concessions to persuade them to attend”, including handing Harry a high-profile seat at Westminster Abbey during the coronation service.

A royal insider said: “The main issue is whether they attend the coronation, and if so, under what conditions.
“The family is divided and all indications are that Harry is being advised not to agree to anything at this stage and to ‘play long’ until the last minute, which makes negotiations with him very difficult.
“Harry’s camp made it clear that the idea of him just attending the coronation and behaving but then being stripped of his titles was a total non-starter.”
They added: “While at some point he could decide to dispose of his titles of his own accord, he objects to the idea of being forcibly stripped.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the last in the UK to attend the late Queen’s funeral in September.
They previously attended the platinum anniversary celebrations last summer, making only one public appearance with the rest of the royal family.
At the anniversary thanksgiving service, the couple notably sat in the aisle facing other senior members of the Firm – alongside younger members such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
