Brandon Lee, Pamela Anderson’s son, opened up about his mother’s financial struggles in her latest Netflix tell-all Pamela, A Love Story.
In her new movie — titled Pamela, A Love Story — the Barb Wire star opened up candidly about her life and career, taking viewers behind the scenes of her tumultuous love affair with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
The synopsis reads: “Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary.
“In her own words, through personal videos and diaries, Pamela Anderson shares the story of her rise to fame, rocky romances, and the infamous sex tape scandal.”
In the documentary, her son Brandon – who is also a producer of the film – explains that his mother has been in debt for most of her life, as she notorious sex tape scandal.
“It would have been different if she had made money off that tape,” he said. “But people were making millions of dollars and she said ‘no’ because she cared 100 percent that her family was okay and I was okay.”
Director Ryan White expressed shock after discovering the true extent of Pamela’s debts.
“She was the most famous woman in the world on the most famous show in the world and she doesn’t have a Baywatch nest egg to rely on,” he said. Yahoo! Entertainment.
Ryan also claimed that he assumed the former Playboy model, 55, was wealthy, but revealed to him that she was not a good “financial planner.”
Ahead of the release of her new memoir and documentary, Pamela admitted she’s “a little anxious,” but she hopes to “empower” others with her story as well.
The former Baywatch actress – who recently shared that she has no intentions to watch the tape again – and her ex were later the inspiration for Pam & Tommy.
With Lily James and Sebastian Stan, the controversial series documented the fallout from the scandal.
Speak against People about writing her story for Love, Pamela, she said: ‘[There’s] a little bit of fear before it comes out because this has actually been a year of therapy from my first memory to my last memory.
The ex-Playboy model added that she is “really proud” of her book.
“It’s something I’ve written every word of. I had no employee. I didn’t have a ghostwriter, nothing.’
In fact, it was two sons Brandon, 26, and Dylan, 25, who “encouraged me to tell my story.”
Pamela, A Love Story is available to stream on Netflix.
