Nick Nemeroff dies as his family mourns ‘devastating loss’ of Canadian comedian and promises to be ‘remembered with love’

COMEDY SIDE Nick Nemeroff has passed away.

The Juno-nominated stand-up comedian recently made an appearance on Roast Battle Canada.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother Nick Nemeroff,” the family wrote on Nick’s. Twitter account.

The statement went on to say, “Nick’s commitment to stand-up was formidable and produced amazing results.

“He has garnered praise in Canada and the US, and has both become a ‘comic strip comic’ and a hit among crowds enchanted by his unique cadence, maze maze and fresh approach to misdirected comedy.

“If Nick was on a comedy show, he was guaranteed to leave with new fans. And he deserved it, because comedy was in many ways his life.”

“Endlessly sweet, supportive of others, humble about his many skills and accomplishments, Nick lived his life through what he loved, and that’s how he will be remembered.”

The family concluded: “RIP Nick. We love you.”

A cause of death has not been released.

As the news broke, many of Nick’s peers and fans used social media to share their tributes.

‘SLAUGHTER AND EC’

Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman described him as “one of the greats”.

Actress and writer Mitra Jouhari wrote: “RIP Nick. Notoriously friendly and so funny.”

Fellow Juno nominee and regular on the Canada Comedy Circle Steph Tolev described him as the “nicest man, hilarious and sincere.

“A unique comedian. It’s such a big loss that you will be greatly missed, Nick,” she added.

Meanwhile, Nick’s management company confirmed the tragic news.

A statement to Exclaim read: “We were so proud to see Nick grow into one of Canada’s most popular and respected comedians.

“Nick will be greatly missed and remembered with love.”

The comedian’s career, known for his deadpan style, recently reached new heights after releasing his debut comedy album, The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life, in 2020.

Nick was a recognizable face to many comedy fans in his native Canada, and he appeared on Conan and on Just For Laughs.
