Petitos have ‘strong case’ after ‘bombshell letter’ claim over Brian’s mother

GABBY Petito’s parents could face a strong lawsuit amid new allegations that Brian Laundrie’s mother wrote him a letter warning him to “burn after reading,” an expert has claimed.

Brian Laundrie made shocking confessions in his notebook, which was first revealed last week, months after he was recovered by the FBI, along with his skeletal remains.

Laundromat insisted on the news that he killed girlfriend Gabby Petito because of an injury and refused to let him get help, which has been questioned by those following the case.

The remains of travel influencer Gabby were discovered in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on September 21, 2021, after she went on a doomed cross-country trip with her boyfriend.

Pat Reilly, the attorney representing Gabby’s parents, Joe and Nichole, has issued a statement condemning the release of the notebook by laundry attorney Steven Bertolino.

And he claimed they failed to release further information about Gabby’s tragic murder amid a lawsuit against them.

Reilly told WFLA, “I find it ironic that Mr. Bertolino says he released this in complete transparency.

“Well, someone should ask him why he isn’t releasing the entire notebook, but more importantly, ask him why he isn’t releasing Roberta Laundrie’s letter to her son.”

In his statement, Reilly claims there is a copy of a letter with some “extreme details” of Petito’s death.

Neama Rahmani, a former assistant US attorney and current president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, told The Sun: “The ‘burn after reading’ letter is important because it shows that the Laundrie family [alleged] knowledge.

“They have not said anything publicly, all statements they have made have gone through their lawyer.

“This letter helps the Petitos show what the laundries knew and when they knew, and because they made statements about searching for Gabby when they reportedly knew she was already dead.

“If the letter shows that Brian’s parents knew he killed Gabby, that’s a very strong case.”

Reilly claimed the letter, found at the Laundrie home after being removed from their son’s van, is undated and “written after Gabby was killed and before Brian took his life”.

SHOCK COURT

Rahmani added: “I suspect more will come out about the laundries’ actions as discovery is made, documents are subpoenaed and people are deposited.

“We’ll get a lot more information about when they knew Gabby was dead and what their son Brian told them.”

Gabby’s parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, are seeking damages of more than $30,000 in a lawsuit alleging the laundries knew their son killed the 22-year-old.

They are not being investigated by the police and insist that they have fully cooperated with the authorities.

The March file alleges that Christopher and Roberta helped Brian cover up Gabby’s murder and help him flee the country, which they vehemently deny.

The complaint alleges that the reaction to their son’s actions was “shocking, appalling and completely unbearable”.

It also claims that instead of helping to find Gabby, they ignored her family and went camping with Brian.

Roberta also allegedly avoided contact with Nichole by blocking her Facebook profile and mobile number while desperately trying to find her daughter.

BRIAN’S KNOWLEDGE

“Christopher Laundrie and Roberta Laundrie exhibited extreme and outrageous behavior which, under the circumstances, amounts to conduct which exceeds all possible limits of decency and which in a civilized society is considered shocking, appalling and utterly intolerable,” the file reads. †

On October 12, 2021, Dr. Brent Blue, the Teton County coroner, that Gabby was strangled to death.

Laundrie wrote in his journal, “From the moment I decided to take her pain away, I knew I couldn’t go on without her.

“I’ve lost our whole future together, every moment we could have cherished.

“I’m ending my life not for fear of punishment, but because I can’t bear to live another day without her.”

The 23-year-old, who shot himself in a manhunt, also hinted at seeing his family after he killed the young vlogger.

“I rushed home to spend all the time I had with my family. I wanted to drive north and let James or TJ kill me, but I wouldn’t want them to spend time in jail for my mistake, even though I’m sure they would have wanted to,” Laundrie is said to have written.
