Kanye West is out, and Kid Cudic is in Rolling Loud Miami – an interesting trade, considering the two have been battling for the past few months.

Festival organizers made the announcement Sunday, saying that for reasons beyond their control, Kanye would not be performing as one of the three headliners at their event later this month… and Scott would step in instead to take on the mantle.

Rolling Loud co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler tell Olasmediatv.com further… “We were looking forward to headliner Ye in Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We worked with him and his team for months on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer perform. This is the first time a headliner has ever made it to our show and while we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best.”

They added: “We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner to Miami and can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

Kid Cudi himself confirmed the news and posted the new lineup on his IG story. It’s unclear why Ye was released, but that’s kind of his MO lately – you’ll remember, him too retired from Coachella last minute, without explanation. They also had to scrape for a new act at the last minute.

The background to this latest news, of course, is the fact that Cudi has officially denied Ye… publicly stated that their friendship is over after Ye lashed out at him for being friends with Pete Davidson.

He even clarified afterwards that he and Kanye still weren’t cool, despite the fact that they collaborated on a song by Pusha T‘s – which KC said would be the last time they worked together. So if he’s the man to fill Kanye’s shoes, it’s almost come full circle.

As for Ye…he’s been relatively low lately. Though he showed up at Diddy’s big moment earlier this summer – the guy hasn’t been nearly as visible as he was at the start of the year… which some may think is a good thing.
