Lorraine Kelly updated her viewers after illness forced her to retreat from her show at the last minute earlier this week.

The Scottish TV presenter had to drop out with her ITV morning program on Wednesday (Feb. 22), after she fell ill with a bug.

Happy, Ranvir Singh was on hand to replace her and was on her show at 9:00 am.

Lorraine has now assured people that she is on the mend and is very much looking forward to returning to our screens after the weekend.

A concerned fan wrote to her on Twitter: “hope you’re feeling better Lorraine?”

The cheery star replied, ‘Much better ta – see you Monday xxx’.

Lorraine previously said she was “extremely disappointed” to be sent home from the studio for her live show this week, especially since she had a very special guest on her couch.

“If you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you’re suddenly attacked by a horrible bug and you’re looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him!!!!!!” she tweeted.

However, she is inundated with well wishes, with Dr. Amir Khan, a regular on her programme, tweeted: ‘Hope you feel better soon my dear x’

“Get well soon darling x,” Aled Jones replied.

If you want an impressive stat, this was actually the first time Lorraine had to withdraw from her own show due to illness.

Kate Garraway and Ed Balls announced her absence on Good Morning Britain this week, saying: ‘In almost a first in her more than 30-year history on breakfast TV, she’s actually gone home. She’s not well.’

“She’s got a bug,” Kate continued. ‘We wish you all the best, Lorraine. I hope you’re doing better.’

“Ranvir comes to the rescue, she’s on her way to get ready for the show, so she’ll be here,” she added.

The broadcaster noted how fortunate it was that Ranvir was available to step into Lorraine’s shoes and get out of bed within an hour’s notice so she could help.

Just before Lorraine’s start, Ranvir revealed that she received a call at 07:18 as she was in bed and reached the train at 07:30, admitting she was ‘proud’ of herself for being so fast.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9pm.
