Rachel Stevens talked about leaving the parental home she shared with her ex Alex Bourne and even touched dating someone new.
The S Club 7 star then split from Alex almost 13 years of marriage in july but only left the house they shared “two weeks ago.”
Now living with their two daughters, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, eight, in a new home, the 44-year-old pop star has spoken at length for the first time about the breakdown of her marriage, but has insisted she’s not ready to date someone new.
When asked if she’s been asked out on dates now that she’s single, Rachel shared, “Yeah, there have been a few [offers to take her out].
“But no, I’m not ready to date yet. I’ve got enough on my mind for now. But I like love. I am the soppiest person. We should be happy to be in love and deserve all the beautiful things in life.”
The doting mum also said it was “difficult” to finally leave the home she shared with her 45-year-old actor ex. The sun: ‘Our divorce is very amicable and that really helps. It’s only been the last two weeks that we haven’t been living together.
“That was certainly difficult. We do it with love and respect, but it’s a process.’
The star announced in July last year that she and Alex had split a month before their 13th birthday.
Rachel said it had been a “tough decision” but assured she and Alex would remain “parenting partners” for their two daughters.
Rachel and Alex married in 2009 at Claridge’s in London.
They were childhood sweethearts who reconnected later in life and started a family.
Rachel previously revealed on Roxie Nafousi’s The Moments That Made Me podcast, “We were childhood sweethearts. We dated when we were 12, we met in youth club and I was in love with him!
“We probably went out for four weeks and when you’re that age that was a long time!”
