Newcastle XI vs Manchester United: Team News Confirmed, Lineup Predicted, Last Injury Before Carabao Cup Final

The Magpies are gearing up for their first final this century, but will have to do without both their first and second choice goalkeepers. Nick Pope rather inexplicably gave the ball outside his own area against Liverpool last week to earn a straight red card, while deputy Martin Dubravka is ironically cupped after representing Man United in the league earlier this season while he was loaned out.

Despite spending millions in the transfer market, this means Newcastle must turn to the much-maligned Loris Karius to take part in his first competitive game in nearly two years. It will be the goalkeeper’s first time playing for an English side since his disastrous performance in the 2018 Champions League final for Liverpool, in which he made two costly mistakes as Real Madrid won 3-1.

Positive news: Bruno Guimaraes has served his suspension for a red card and can return to midfield. Joelinton and Joe Willock should also be fit to be part of the squad, both pushing to start. Anthony Gordon is in the cup.

Newcastle United predicted XI: Karius; Trippier, Dab, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Saint Maximin
