Taking good care of your iPhone battery is important for your everyday use, but it can also serve you well if you want to sell it.
According to BuybackBossthere’s an important maximum capacity percentage to keep in mind if you want to sell your phone as “Mint” or “Used”.
Phone Sales Expert’s website states, “If your iPhone is in perfect working order, it means it has virtually no signs of use.
“If you’re looking for an iPhone in perfect working order, you’ve probably kept it in a sturdy, closed iPhone case for its entire life.
“Not only does your iPhone look great, but it must also have a fully functioning battery with a maximum capacity of 80%.”
The advice is similar if you want to sell your phone as “Used”.
BuybackBoss says, “For most of us, we would describe our iPhone as “used”.
“We kept our iPhone in the case and used it every day, so it has some light signs of use.
“However, there are no noticeable cosmetic issues and the battery is still in excellent condition (80% max health).”
If your maximum battery percentage is less than this, you’ll probably have to sell your phone for less.
There is a quick way to check the health and maximum endurance of your battery.
Open the Settings app and select Battery.
Click the Battery Status tab.
On this page you will find a full report on your battery’s capacity, peak performance and whether the battery needs to be serviced or replaced.
The battery’s maximum capacity “is a measure of battery capacity from when it was new,” according to Apple.
If you see a figure below 80%, you may have made some battery errors in the past.
These include using your iPhone when it’s charged, letting it overheat, and charging it overnight.
