Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) and Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) are getting married (soon, not in the morning) in Coronation Street – but the run-up to the big day is far from over.

Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and Mimi aside, it’s very clear Tyrone (Alan Halsall) still loves Fiz, and he’s aware of the time running out.

After a chat with Kev (Michael Le Vell), Tyrone decides that yes, days before Fiz declares that she wants to spend the rest of her life with someone else, this is absolutely the perfect time to say how he feels.

As if that’s not enough, Fiz also tells Tyrone that she still loves him, but can not trust him after Alina and therefore she will marry Phill.

* and breathe *.

When it comes to soap weddings, history tells us the chances of things being a success are very slim and according to Jennie McAlpine she also does not have high expectations for Fiz and Phill’s wedding!

‘The register is canceled on the morning of the wedding, so it’s really doomed! Fiz’s eyebrow is stuck to her cheek, that’s another sign ‘, she told us.

‘All that clutter and mess! Fiz says all those rules, “should we have done this, it’s doomed, should we have had this big wedding?”. I thought no you should not! ‘

Moments before the wedding, Tyrone gives Fiz some earrings that belonged to Vera, a Weatherfield legend.

“She does not know what to do,” Jennie adds as she reflects on Fiz’s reaction.

‘We remember Vera for her bright, big, colorful earrings. These are pearls that Jack once gave her for a memorial. She thinks it’s beautiful, but can not help but wonder “why did you not give it to me two years ago instead of running away with Alina?”.

With so much bad luck, will Phil and Fiz finally say ‘I do’?
