It’s time to brush off your cloaks if The traitors will reportedly return to our screens for Red Nose Day in a few weeks.
It is thought that the BBC’s hit reality show will be turned into a sketch for the Comic relief event featuring Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and the show’s host, Claudia Winkleman.
While the Line of Duty broadcaster has promised more details about the lineup for the annual charity event will be revealed in due course, they’ve already teased a few things about what fans can expect.
Black adder is officially set to return for the first time in over 20 years for Red Nose Day, which will take place on Friday, March 17.
Co-creator Richard Cutirs confirmed the epic comeback on BBC Radio 2, teasing that “Baldrick will put on some sort of performance”, while there will be a “wonderful turnip-based thing” featuring Tony Robinson.
Elsewhere, in support of Comic Relief, the BBC is offering some treasures from its vault in a free Telly Treasures Giveaway, including some earrings worn by Pat Butcher of EastEnders (Pam Saint Clemens).
Meanwhile, AJ Odudu teased that one secret love island sketch for Red Nose Day
She told BBC’s The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating: ‘I’m one of the hosts along with Paddy McGuinness, David Tennant, Joel Dommett, Zoe Ball and indeed you can expect sketches with the most iconic cameos – including Kylie. Minogue and there’s also a special Love Island sketch that now has my lips sealed.”
The Traitors sketch rumor comes after the BBC finally confirmed it would be coming back for a second seasonwith Claudia returning as the host of the series set in the Scottish Highlands.
The heart-pounding show follows a group of contestants who are called either Faithful or a Traitor, though they don’t know who is assigned to each team.
Throughout the show, their job is to take out and banish the Traitors during epic roundtables, while the Traitors in turn ‘kill’ the Faithfuls chasing them.
If a small group of Faithfuls make it to the finals, they’ll share the cash prize, but if there’s a traitor among them, they’ll take home the jackpot all for themselves.
The show’s UK debut season featured Faithfuls Aaron Evans, Meryl Williams and Hannah Byczkowski walk away with the £120,000 profit after eventually realizing that Wilfred Webster was a traitor.
