WOKE railway chiefs have scrapped railway terms such as pilot and bankman in favor of gender-neutral language.

It comes after employees were given an updated set of job titles and phrases last week and instructed to sign a form confirming they will observe the changes.
Among the changes, Pilot – a railroad worker who guides trains through dangerous stretches of track – has been dropped.
PC administrators have decided that it should be replaced with a pilot.
Staff have also been told to say traffic marshal instead of bank man in case anyone is offended.
Manned level crossings are called manually operated level crossings.

An insider said: “These changes come from a long list of demands devised by the higher educated to keep up with the times.

Network Rail has been contacted for comment.
It comes after Oxfam was derided for issuing a 92-page “inclusive” phrasebook to staff.
The report warns that “parent” is often preferred to mother or father and that the word “local” can be offensive to some.
Employees were also told to use “people who get pregnant” instead of “mothers-to-be”.
