Network Rail sparks outrage for ‘abolishing terms like pilot and bank man in favor of gender neutral language’
- Network Rail reportedly instructed staff to sign a form acknowledging the new rules
- But staff have hit back, labeling the new language as ‘wokery gone mad’
Network Rail has been charged with “virtue signaling” for allegedly introducing gender-neutral job titles and expressions for its staff.
The railway company reportedly instructed staff to sign a form confirming their adherence to new gender-neutral terms such as “manually operated level crossing” rather than “manned level crossing.”
But a source told the sun the new rules made the company look like a “laughing stock” and branded them “wokery gone mad.”
Staff have also reportedly been told to use gender-neutral terms, such as “air traffic controller” instead of “bank man” and “pilot” instead of “pilot man.”
The source told the Sun: “These changes come from a long list of demands devised by the higher educated to keep up with the times.

“But we’re more like a laughing stock. They should stick to improving services rather than virtue. Wakery’s gone crazy.’
