This cafe on the corner of Crummer Rd in Gray Lynn has been blackened after an early Monday morning fire

Firefighters battled heavy flames at the back of Gray Lynn cafe early Monday morning.

The fire and emergency services were called to a fire on Crummer Rd, towards OhSO Café and Bar at around 2:50 am. The police also responded.

“This was a significant fire over a period of time, initially thought to have been fueled by gas, although no evacuations of local residents were required,” said a police spokesman.

According to the police, no one had to leave their homes because of the fire.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire within a short time and investigations will be on site today to determine what happened.”

Police stand guard awaiting investigators from the crime scene at ohSO Café on Gray Lynn’s Crummer Rd, where a fire broke out last night.

On Monday around 07:00, the police were on guard waiting for the arrival of detectives.

Not long after, delivery staff arrived as usual to drop off supplies, but the cafe was out of order.
