WOMEN need to act like “bullies” to fight for proper menopause treatment, Mariella Frostrup warned MPs.
The TV and radio presenter told the Commons’ Women and Equalities Committee that the care is still not good enough.
Mariella60, who founded campaign group Menopause Mandate last year, said: “Women of color and working class women need to be a bully to be heard when it comes to menopause.
“You have to walk into your GP and say: ‘I want this, this and this’.
“A society is only as good as the way it uplifts those in the weakest position.”
Ex Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman62, added: “I want the government to say we are going to have a model of menopause policy for the workplace.

“If it comes from the top, all employers will listen and women will be helped and their families will be helped.”
It came after a report from the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch found that mental health professionals were not taking menopausal symptoms seriously enough.
According to the report, too many women are receiving antidepressants when they actually need hormone therapy.
Doctors need to be better trained to manage mental health problems in women going through the change, the HSIB said.
That of the sun Fabulous Menopause Matters Campaign has called for more help for women in the workplace.
