dr. AS Anthony Fauci Says Biden Is The Best President In The World OLASMEDIA TV NEWSThis is what we have for you today:

dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, says the commander in chief is “doing very well” following a recent COVID-19 diagnosis. The White House said earlier this week that Mr. Biden is isolating himself in the White House and experiencing mild symptoms.

“The president continues to improve,” Fauci told “CBS Saturday Mornings.” “He is virtually working a full day and every day he is doing well. So as we’ve said before, given that he’s been vaccinated, double boosted and on Paxlovid – a drug that clearly goes a long way in preventing the progression of the disease – we fully expect him to do very well.”

Fauci said Mr. Biden wears a face mask when around others who are “doing things around him for some reason,” noting that he follows guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. when he’s not wearing a mask.

The president’s positive COVID case comes as the BA.5 virus subvariant is fueling an increase in infections in several states of the country. According to the CDC126,128 new positive cases are reported daily in the US, an increase of 0.5% from the previous seven-day moving average.

But Fauci said the average number of positive cases “is probably a pretty significant undercount.”

“It’s probably several times more than that because a lot of people get infected, have mild to moderate symptoms, and don’t report it,” he said.

Scientists are also concerned about a spike in hospital admissions. According to Fauci, about 40,000 people are in hospitals and an average of 300 to 400 deaths are reported related to COVID. He says the hospitalizations and death toll are “really not acceptable”.

And while the future of the virus is difficult to predict, the immunologist said he foresees the country will eventually get to a point where COVID will no longer “disrupt the social order.”

“I believe we will not eradicate or eradicate this virus in the end,” he said. “We’re going to have to live with it because it’s the virus that has such a transmissibility that it won’t just disappear.”

But he noted that “we’re not at that point now.”

“It’s premature to think we have no problem dealing with it because while we wish the virus was behind us in the rearview mirror, as we say, the virus doesn’t work that way at the moment,” he said. “While we all want to be free from the virus, we are not yet free from it. We will have to learn to live with it, but we have to do better than we are doing now.”

He stressed the importance of getting vaccinated and boosted, as well as wearing a mask indoors in environments with high levels of viral dynamics.

“These are the kinds of things we can do to prevent an even greater rise in cases than we’re seeing now,” Fauci said.
