LIFE’S a pitch for these football players who have all installed football fields in their huge mansions.
Wayne RooneyLionel Messi Cristiano Ronaldo were just some of the self-isolating stars who honed their skills at home when football was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
THE BEST OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE
New Arsenal U18 coach Jack Wilshere has an expansive backyard that he loves to shoot balls with.
Although Jack got herself in hot water with his neighbors complaining that nets around the field were an eyesore.
While some, like John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, have full-sized targets to add that extra bit of realism and do some target practice.
But it is Paul PogbagPhil Neville and Benjamin Mendy who have gone one step further by having indoor standing places inside their sprawling homes.
BRAND POGBA
The former Man Utd midfielder had his ‘PP’ initials etched into the center circle to let you know it was his pitch. Smart branding.
Mendy has a small strip of astroturf on which he likes to show off his ball juggling skills with his friends.
In addition to the artificial turf, the Man City defender has a scoreboard, presumably so he can keep track of how many keepie-uppies he can do.
Neville’s is more like an oversized Subbuteo pitch. He tried to sell his house in 2015, but couldn’t find any buyers.
Was it the football field that scared off potential buyers? Who knows, but the football bean bags are a nice touch.
THE CAGE OF IRELAND
Then there’s Steven Ireland’s… a man known for his excessive taste in cars, his mini-field is reminiscent of the cage in the Nike ads.
But there is one thing that Messi, Ronaldo, Terry, Rooney and Glen Johnson all have in common.
They all have kids, giving these soccer stars the perfect excuse to romp with their offspring in their backyard.
After all, they are perfect.
