A 100-pound sailfish stabbed a 70-year-old woman after she jumped out of the water.

Katherine Perkins was hit in the groin by her pointed beak while standing in a boat about two miles off the coast of Stuart, Florida.

Her companions Louis Toth and Dominic Bellezza were trying to reel it in on a fishing line when it suddenly jumped onto their boat.

They put pressure on Mrs. Perkins’ wound and took her to Stuart for medical treatment.

The retiree from Arnold, Maryland, told police it happened so quickly she didn’t have time to respond.

Sailfish are among the fastest fish in the ocean and are one of the most sought after in the sport fishing world.

Like swordfish, they are recognizable by their elongated, pointed beaks.
