APPLE TV owners can now access Netflix’s ad-based option after being unable to access the service for nearly five months.
It means Apple TV owners can now save £2 on their Netflix bill, just like everyone else.

Netflix launched its Basic with Ads tier for £4.99 a month in the UK late last year as the company tried to entice more paying customers.
Basic with Ads is currently available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US.
In January, the plan had more than a million subscribers, and that figure is expected to grow since then.
It gives stream fans an option that’s cheaper than the basic basic plan at £6.99 per month.
But until this week, it was absent from Apple TV owners.
Even if they logged in with a different device, users could not access the advertising based option.
Others are still waiting, including those using Netflix apps ChromecastChromecast Ultra, PS3And WindowsTechCrunch first reported.
While Netflix warns users about this, the breakdown of prices on its website is.
A small percentage of devices that play on Netflix ad-free subscriptions cannot be used with an ad-supported Netflix subscription.
“This is because the Netflix app or software on the device can’t be updated to a version that supports ads.”
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you have your app.
It should be noted, however, that Apple TV owners won’t be able to take advantage of the cheaper Netflix option and their screen’s 4K definition.
The ad-funded tier is limited to 720p video quality, so there’s no 4K HDR action.
