It is believed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at their mansion in Montecito with their children Archie and Lilibet when the alarm went off. Santa Barbara Police records show officers went to the £11 million house on the couple’s wedding anniversary on May 19.
Police arrived at 5:44 p.m. local time following a report of an intruder, The Sun reported.
They returned for a second intruder alert on May 31 at 3:21 pm, just hours before the Sussexes boarded a private jet to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Both calls in May were registered as “intruder”, “property crime” and “suspicious circumstances,” it has been reported.
According to police records, there have been six security alerts to their home in the US in the past 14 months.
On April 9, 2021, the police were dispatched at 2.52 am after a phone call, but were called off because “no assistance was needed”.
On New Year’s Day this year, at 1:43 a.m., the alarm “accidentally went off” and a patrol car was dispatched.
It is unclear whether the Sussexes were home at the time.
Police were then called at 10:41 a.m. on April 8, but were not present because the call “was from another agency”.
