Screenshots of what appears to be MIUI 14 have surfaced on the web revealing some of the upcoming changes. Needless to say, this is based on Android 13. Here’s what development version 22.7.19 looks like (Xiaomi uses date-based versions, so this is as fresh as it gets).
The Gallery app gets a text recognition feature, which allows you to quickly copy text from documents you’ve snapped. There’s also an “On this day” feature, which brings out old photos taken on a particular day years ago.

Bluetooth LE Audio is supported, the next evolution of wireless audio. It brings a new high-quality codec, plus support for Auracast broadcasting – a single device can act as a kind of FM radio station and multiple supported headphones can listen to it. In addition, Multi-Stream can simultaneously send audio to both TWS buttons (current TWS headsets have a main button, which plugs into the secondary button).
MIUI 14 will also have enhanced anti-fraud protection, pointing fingers at suspicious calls, messages and apps.

The new version also helps you clean up notifications and brings a reworked Assistant interface. The clock app UI has also been revamped.

MyDrivers reports that there will be no intermediate version of MIUI this year, such as the MIUI 12.5 from last year. Xiaomi plans to go straight from v13 to MIUI 14.
